Hello redemption,
my name's Andrei but I'm best known as
Benes on AD. I'm currently a 23 year old computer science student, specialized in the field of computer graphics and algorithms. I've been studying since '07 and am looking forward to graduate with a bachelor degree in a year or two. Other than studying I'm interested in the usual internet nerd activities such as anime, online games, facebooking, etc . Lately I've been picking up more books and other hobbies away from the computer which fulfill me just as much.
I've been playing WoW since early vanilla days, formerly a resto druid I switched to tanking as a protection warrior two summers ago. I had several month long breaks throughout my WoW time, usually coming back because I'm intrigued by new mechanics, new bossfights, etc . Only recently Paxtor made me reroll characters with him on TM, being intrigued by ICC and the new LFG system I obliged and here I am.
In the two years of playing on Argent Dawn I've been most of the time with Blackrock Diving School, a guild that I'm still part of although not part of their raiding force anymore. BDS is where I learned most things about my class so I'm deeply thankful to them; they also granted me a great raiding spot and a place I could call home. I had the chance to meet several people during the two guild meetings I've attended in the Netherlands and in Scotland. Great bunch of folks, one of them only recently got accepted on trial with you guys.
As said, most of my WoW experience as a Warrior was gathered during my time in BDS as a very active tank. I've joined while they were working on beating Kael'Thas and making the first steps in Hyjal and Black Temple. To me that time marked the best time in the game I've experienced so far, great content, great people to raid with, great progression rank on AD, simply a great time. It was also then that I got to know a draenei hunter called Eildéan. Both of us being trialists in BDS, we started exchanging ourselves about the guild, the raid and other general things. Let me tell you, back then he didn't lick anyone!
Beside talking, ranting, raging and raiding we also had habit of throwing voodoo skulls at each other in Tempest Keep. Oh and how could I forget, the day we got attuned to Black Temple, he, Lyrissa (former Warrior class leader in BDS) and me spent 3 hours straight equipped with invisibility potions and other tricks trying to get past Naj'entus. Successfully reaching the sewer gate we called it a day. I'm sure there are other stories I forgot right now, maybe Ethlar can tell some.
Previous semester being tougher and WoW not fulfilling me anymore I stepped down from raiding and quit the game altogether thus missing most of the TotC fights and never having set foot in ICC25. Getting an ICC25 tanking spot as an undergeared Warrior is probably wishful thinking thus I applied myself to farming badge gear and doing an occasional ICC10 run with BDS.
I'm looking for dedicated, serious and mature people to hang out with whenever I spend time in WoW and since I know a few people in Redemption it's only logical to apply for a friend rank. Beside strongly agreeing with Redemption's ideology Paxtor has been bugging me about applying for quite some time now but I decided to wait a bit so I could gear up and tank ICC10 without being a liability.
As mentioned earlier I'm befriended with Ethlar the licker and Paxtor the great (he made me write this).
Paxtor and me go a long way, originally meeting through a girl in Ragnarök Online we became online buddies quite quickly, it's a weird friendship though because we fight and quit the friendship every third month like a precise clockwork. Usually one of us backs down and we apologize and go back to normal.
Through him I've also been introduced to Sarynia the handsome, Deins the sane and Vidivici the skillful. Sarynia, Paxtor and me actually plan on heading over to Japan together this summer.
Baradin is the trialist I was previously referring to, meeting him last summer was a great experience. I've never met someone like him before, great guy with great attitude, amazing humor, great character and gambling luck that is out of this world. At least against me! Damn you Baradin!
